Love Versus Hate - An Anthem

In response to the horrific attacks on our fellow man in Orlando...

Hate knows no bigotry, no prejudice, no phobia. Hate hates all without mercy or distinction. In the heart of hate no love can reside save for the love of self.
But love, love in all it's colors and backgrounds, will always win. Hate may know no boundaries, but true love knows no limits, no time, no space, and no fear.
Love always wins.

From the beginning of time, in a garden, hate entered and tried to fight Love. And to this very moment in this very broken world, hate will continue to seethe and snap and draw our blood, but Love still wins.

And this Love has faced hate in the flesh and has conquered. This Love has challenged hate and risen. This love has defeated hate and given life.

"Courage isn't the absense of fear but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear." Ambrose Redmoon

In the same vein, do not give in to the hate. There is something more important. Do not go down that dark road paved with fear for it only leads to death. Do not bury your head or cover your eyes. This is not the time to duck and cover. This is the time to move boldly ahead and stare hate in the face and proclaim "not here; not me."

For love is not only the absence of hate but the ability to love in the face of hate and the overwhelming conviction that hate will not and can not win.

We are called to more. We are called to love. We are called to truth. We are called to mercy. We are called to open hands and tender hearts. We are called to breaking bread and prayers. We are called to gathering and touching and sharing - sharing joys and sorrows.

We who were dead in our sins, we who have been called to the marvelous light, we who are friends of the Savior have a job to do. And we are here for such a time as this.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

"We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19

Hating people is a lot easier than loving them. I mean, society is filled with stress and toxicity, in fact, it is impressive how miserable people are today. If you told me that it is easier to love than to hate, then that says a lot about your character. If you love people more than you hate them, then that means that you have a nice life. Personally, I hate people more than I love them, but that is just me.
